500 hp and 450 lb ft of torque. If the current GT-R is fast

The 2012 Nissan GT-R is going to be even more bonkers than the current version. While that isn’t surprising exactly, it is ridiculous to think about. When the car shows up early next year, expect it to have more than 500 hp and 450 lb ft of torque. If the current GT-R is fast, the next one will be meteoric. Luckily, Nissan is limiting exterior changes to a revised front splitter, rear diffuser and wing, to increase down force and, crucially, lower lap times. Of course, Nissan is claiming this thing is significantly faster than the current car’s 7:26 around the Nordschleife. Though Nissan has tested the car at the ‘Ring, everyone is keeping mum about lap times thus far. Stay tuned.
