Ferrari’s new 458 Italia, the F430’s replacement

it’s well known that Ferrari’s new 458 Italia, the F430’s replacement, is a highly-tuned, tightly-woven superfreak of a road car. Ferrari says it is the car that breaks with past Maranello traditions to bring some of its most clever technologies to the street and reward its loyal clientele. As such, this thing is teeming with tech that only James Bond would have dared dream about in a road car until now. It’s not just the direct-injection V8 or the steering-wheel-mounted turn signals, it’s the whole package that makes this car special. how about two sets of exhaust pipes, one for below 3,500 rpm, one for above? How about a downshift paddle optimized to give you the best rpm/gear selection for the exit of each turn? Stay tuned for a full feature on the individual technologies that drive Maranello’s latest creation off the map.
