Foreign Student's Guide to English Articles) (Paperback) As an ESL (English as a Second Language) instructor, I think this book is a godsend. It chronicles all the nuances of article usage beyond count vs. noncount nouns, which cover only some, but not all, of the reasons for articles. After explaining that singular count nouns MUST have articles, students are still stumped on other occasions. For example, some ailments take an article while others don't. Why is that? This book answers that and many more.

Dress to Kill (1999)

Dress to Kill, Eddie Izzard spins free-flowing jokes about San Francisco (where the comedy concert was filmed), transvestitism, squirrels, American optimism, Hitler, the British royal family, mass murder, and Stonehenge--and that's only the first 30 minutes. It's as if this ingenious comedian says whatever comes off the top of his head, but giving that impression demands cunning and skill; Izzard romps through human history and transforms surprisingly complex ideas into biting satire--as well as knockout bits of sublime frivolity, like describing the movie Speed entirely in French. His mercurial patter is sprinkled with four-letter words, but his twinkling glances make this more mischievous than crude. Izzard has delivered some excellent performances in movies (like Velvet Goldmine and The Cat's Meow), but it's on stage that he really explodes with daffy wit and charisma. Simply brilliant and completely addictive; you will want to watch this over and over. --Bret Fetzer

concept of Alfa Romeo Pandion

Bertone had been toughed  for  The last three years. After stunning the automotive world with exceptional concepts for decades, the Italian design think tank struggled and fell on hard times, largely due to missed orders. Ermelinda “Lilli” Bertone, the widow of former CEO Nuccio Bertone, was forced to sell the production plant in Grugliasco to Fiat, although she kept the design and R&D facilities in Caprie (which led to an unpleasant fight with her two daugthers). But, the result of her

500 hp and 450 lb ft of torque. If the current GT-R is fast

The 2012 Nissan GT-R is going to be even more bonkers than the current version. While that isn’t surprising exactly, it is ridiculous to think about. When the car shows up early next year, expect it to have more than 500 hp and 450 lb ft of torque. If the current GT-R is fast, the next one will be meteoric. Luckily, Nissan is limiting exterior changes to a revised front splitter, rear diffuser and wing, to increase down force and, crucially, lower lap times. Of course, Nissan is claiming this thing is significantly faster than the current car’s 7:26 around the Nordschleife. Though Nissan has tested the car at the ‘Ring, everyone is keeping mum about lap times thus far. Stay tuned.

Honda’s new Super GT racer

Honda’s new Super GT racer has hit the Web. The car was sighted lapping zuzuka Circuit in preparation for the upcoming race season. Engineers ditched the road-going version’s V10 engine for a 3.4-liter V8 with around 500 horsepower. The thing sounds like a bonafide F1 screamer, and thanks to the widebody treatment and low curb weight, it has no problem sticking to the tarmac. Honda still hasn’t released any details on the car’s 0-60 time or top speed, but we’re guessing the specs are pretty impressive

Checa New blistering track best

I know this track and I really like this track. And we made a good job. I always have some success here; always feel well. Even now with the Ducati we have had fantastic performance. I didn’t expect to get this lap time and to get the Superpole win. We know the Aprilia has a lot of speed. With a lot of grip even this makes it more difficult. But finally, this lap time was fantastic.  [ Carlos Checa ]

From Max Biaggi and his Aprilia Alitalia team a remarkable day of unpredictable final outcomes and drama on track finally delivered two 21-lap race victories  in front of 55,000 spectators, a record for Miller Motorsports Park. Max now has a 15 point lead over Leon Haslam (Alstare Suzuki) but he may not have won a single race today had Althea Ducati privateer Carlos Checa's machine not quit twice on him while leading. Checa had to content himself with two Pirelli awards for the fastest lap of each race and a new lap record of 1'48.045, set on lap four of race one. Biaggi made his third double win of the year, after similar feats at Portimao and Monza.
